"An awe-inspiring ride. The people I met on this ride were amazing. I can't wait for the 2006 ride."

“I've been an avid cyclist for the past 10 years and log thousands of miles every year. Few rides have touched me more than this one”.

"Slept with my bike, not husband and before I rubbed my eyes it was 5am and we had started straight up a hill. Not really a bad hill just a suburban bend on a misty morning but I panted, I pulled and I cried. Tears and snot...just like the 2 year old left at home. Then I found my stride and caught site of you Susan. We like each other, but we don’t really know each other well. Frankly my decision to bike the century with you was made in two seconds at lunch the previous January. Ok you are persuasive, but it was part instinct part dumb luck that I came away rewarded. In fact the moment you passed me on that hill with your smile and warm words I became deeply inspired and humbled – I found some spiritual grace with you and your families legacy that carried me though the day.Sincerely, you are an inspiration Susan - and even if we don’t know each other as well as I would like you temporarily turned a fashion maven into a biker for your visionary cause."

"When I signed up for the ride last year I had two objectives. First, to support my friends Patti and Susan, who double handedly got their friends to love cycling and also spin for a good cause. Second, to push myself to see if I could get myself in shape and be able to ride long distances after recovering one year out from breast cancer treatment.
The truth is, I achieved both of my objectives, but what I did not anticipate or expect was the unbelievably positive energy and incredible people that took this journey with me. I have so many fond memories of almost every minute, from when we left NY, to when we pulled into a Greenwich, CT YMCA to be greeted with simple hand-made posters that said "Welcome Beyond the 11th” (this actually brought me to tears), to getting lost in CT (lucky for us, though, we got to be with Mel), to ultimately pulling into the parking lot of a Days Inn 13 hours after we started that morning.
This was truly one of the best experiences of my life, andI can't wait to do it again!" Laura Witheford - Wellesley, MA
